Who knew the tories were such party animals. With John Yakabuski set to release a CD of Ottawa Valley favourites it's almost cool to be convervative these days.

Yak's a great guy. I've run into him several times. He's committed, to be sure. And, yes, definitely fun.

We've had many a laugh at the conventions over the past couple of years.

He was also there to help the federal cause with John Baird's campaign and I know John is definitely grateful for the help. So am I.

He's an awesome guy. Ran into John at CJOH TV just last week. Not sure why he was there to be interviewed. Likely for the CD. (or has Dalton announced some devastating energy plan - I'm admittedly wrapped in municipal pols right now, forgive me)

But, anecdote time:

Ran into a guy at Lisa MacLeod's launch for the Nepean-Carleton by-run in the fall of last year. He said something to the effect that I was "too cool to be a conservative". I said, "You're here, aren't you?"

Cool is a concept. Liberals and leftists can be cool, too. I know some. Sure, we disagree on stuff. But, we're civil and still get along in life. Democratic, Right?

Does that explain, in part, why we're fighting in Afghanistan? Hope so.

'Cuz I have folk over there.

Thanks for the feedback.

Be Well
